Gipsy Moth IV

We could not resist the challenge to be involved in what can only be called the resurrection of Sir Francis Chichester’s “Gipsy Moth IV” from incarceration in concrete at Greenwich for decades. We could not resist the challenge. The project, masterminded by the late Paul Gelder, editor of Yachting Monthly and enthusiastically driven by David Green of the UKSA, has been a gratifying and at times challenging journey to be involved with. Firstly to preserve this icon of maritime history and secondly to give disenfranchised and underprivileged young people a part of the epic Round the World Voyage in the footsteps of Sir Francis Chichester.
