Production machinery

The 70s and 80s was a time of accelerating advances in sailmaking technology. We made our first computer designed sail in 1976 which was created by Paul’s favourite navigator and 2 times JOG Offshore series winner Peter Morgan. This full triradial sail proved to be an astonishing improvement in spinnaker performance. The 70s started with us hand sewing ropes, rings, and even jib hanks through the implementation of hydraulically pressed rings, riveted headboards, machine roping right through to modern 3D design and computer cutting, reducing production time to 5% of that previously taken.
