All the fun of the fair but without the scary rides, cut for ease of handling for use over a wide range of wind strengths and angles. Our most popular downwind sail for cruising yachts of all sizes. This sail is a slightly de-tuned asymmetric spinnaker to minimise trimming and simplify handling whilst giving a serious boost to downwind speed and fun. Setting and recovery made easier with a Squeezer/Snuffer or our ultimate handling system, Magic Furl, making it easy to set and furl from the cockpit.

What Our Customers Say

Sorry about the delay in writing, but wanted to give our new sail a thorough test first. So now I can honestly say "Many thanks for the cruising chute for my Oceanquest. My wife and I sail the boat mostly on our own and we are more than happy to stick this sail up if we think we are going too slowly on a reach/broad reach. My wife is comfortable managing the halyard and the sheets, and I have no qualms about being on the foredeck pulling up the sock. Changed days from the anxiety we had about managing a hefty spinnaker pole to get the traditional spinnaker up and flying, plus the "knitting" that always seemed to accompany this job. Dousing it has been straightforward. The sock gets it under control very quickly and then it's either into its bag or, if windy, shoved down the forehatch. We love the colours by the way and think them pretty dramatic. They match our boat which has green gel stripe (not the usual Westerly blue) and gold cove lines. No photo yet from another boat, but I've attached one taken from the cockpit. More than happy to recommend Crusader.

Just a quick mail to say many thanks for getting my Kite to me. I've had it up a couple of times and really impressed, super job so thank you to you and the team. I've attached a photo and small clip was light airs but we were moving along nicely quite tight to the wind 60 degrees which was impressive though I know wouldn't be that in higher winds. I have realised I should have probably ordered a launch bag, can you give me a price on a suitable one please. Not sure if these are a stock item or what the lead time might be. Many thanks.
